WILLS FILES TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION TO DISTRICT 57B SEAT
ROSEMOUNT, MN—Representative Anna Wills, R-Rosemount, announced Friday, May 20, that she has filed with the Minnesota Secretary of State to seek re-election for a third term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Wills has served District 57B since she was first elected in 2012, and was successfully re-elected in 2014 by more than 2600 votes by a 58-41 margin.
"I'm proud of the work I’ve done for our community and believe there's more I can do if I have the honor of being re-elected," Wills said.
Wills cited several accomplishments from her first two terms as evidence of her ability to work across the aisle to achieve results for the district including funding for the Minnesota Zoo, passing a measure that will help save District 196 more than $500,000 per year by allowing them to build another bus hub, and passing legislation to streamline special education paperwork for teachers.
Wills also successfully authored bonding legislation that secured $7 million in bonding to complete the Transportation and Emerging Technologies wing at Dakota County Technical College.
"I'm still committed to passing tax relief for middle class families, improving education and closing the achievement gap, reining in health care costs, and ensuring that taxpayers are respected and wasteful spending is eliminated,” Wills added.
